This volume presents a range of papers on recent developments in our understanding of (1) how micro-organisms can interact positively with crop plants, and (2) how micro-organisms are important in the utilisation of certain crops.
Effects of mycorrhizae and bulk soil, rhizosphere and endophytic bacteria on a range of crops; the symbiotic association between Neotyphodium/Epichloe endophytes and forage grasses and the roles of yeast and lactic acid bacteria in brewing are considered. Molecular level through to agronomic/economic level aspects of plant/micro-organism interactions are covered.
