SUMMARY:Early Career Essentials for Applied Biologists
DESCRIPTION:VISIT EVENT WEBSITE\nThe membership of the Association of Applied Biologists includes a unique cohort of early career professionals. This group includes ECPs who work across academia\, industry\, farming and agriculture. This sets the AAB apart from other societies whose membership cohorts are more homogeneous. We surveyed the AAB ECPs and there was a consensus choice for AAB to organise an event that mixes opportunities to present their research and participate in workshops that discuss skills\, careers and other challenges/opportunities outside of research. \nSchedule Details \nThis two-day meeting is a mix of oral and poster presentations and workshop sessions.\nDay 1: October 20th 2026\nMeeting begins at 10am:\nKeynote talk\nDelegate short talks.\n– Lunch\nWorkshop- Shaping science policy: Understanding and Impacting the system\n– Break\nWorkshop- Careers Panel: Changing your focus within science\nPoster Session\nNetworking evening at local venue \nDay 2: October 21st 2026\nKeynote Talk\nDelegate short talks.\n– Break\nWorkshop – Creating inclusive teams: collaboration\, leadership\, and communication\nWorkshop- Building Resilience in and out of Research\n– Lunch\nWorkshop- Communicating your Science: Promotion and Publication \n\nSubmit an Abstract to present your research
