SUMMARY:Advances in Nematology 2026
DESCRIPTION:The annual AAB Advances in Nematology meeting will take place as a hybrid event on Thursday December 10th 2026 at the Linnean Society in central London. \nVisit Event Website\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is hosted by the Association of Applied Biologists Nematology Specialist Group and invites contributions from areas encompassing all applied biology of nematology (molecular biology of nematodes or hosts\, ecology\, epidemiology\, management of plant-parasitic nematodes\, entomopathogenic nematodes and emerging diagnostic methods). \nIn 2026 we will host poster presentations from in-person and online delegates\, alongside 30-minute talks from invited speakers and 15 minute talks selected from submitted abstracts. \nIn order to encourage further discussions we will host an early evening social event in the poster room at The Linnean Society with drinks and snacks. \nWe especially encourage the participation of students and early career professionals. There are prizes given for the preferred student/ECP presentation (the Brian Kerry prize supported by CABI-UK) and an AAB Nematology student/ECP poster prize. \nCall for abstracts is now open and closes October 31st 2026 \nSUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT HERE\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nInvited Speakers\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n– Mark Blaxter (Sanger Centre\, Cambridge): Building the nematode tree of life: genomes from single specimens across nematode diversity \n– Andre Beltran (Wagenenigen University\, The Netherlands): Insights on nematode hatching and consequences for potato cyst nematodes (PCN) management \n– Giulia Torrini (Council for Agricultural Research and Economics – Research Centre for Plant Protection and Certification\, Italy): Using EPNs to control Popillia japonica
