WHY JOIN AAB?

The AAB are happy to support a number of awards that are open for application at various points during the year.

AAB President’s Medals

New for 2026, we will be awarding three President’s Medals recognising excellence, impact and leadership across applied biology.

Nominations are now open for the inaugural Plant Science Medal, Sustainable Futures Medal & Accessibility in Applied Biology Medal.

Travel Awards

Open for nominations throughout the year, we offer travel grants of up to £500 to enable early-career scientists and those with diverse access needs to attend AAB events.

AAB Carer and Accessibility Fund

Available to all career-stages to provide additional help to attend either live and virtual AAB events. Funding could be used to support care of children, elderly or disabled adult relatives, or for personal use to facilitate personal accessibility needs. Find out more.

AAB Early-Career Professional (ECP) Grant

Available to all students or early career professionals (within 5 years of leaving full time education). This award is open to members and non-members alike to fund travel to AAB events. Find out more.

Exclusively for our early-career members, we also offer travel grants to attend external events in applied biology. Find out more.
