Extracts from the Laws of the Association of Applied Biologists
Name
The association shall be called ‘The Association Of Applied Biologists
Specialist Groups
10.1 – All members of the association shall be invited to register as members of one or more groups, which act as a focal point for disciplines or specialist interests within the association. These groups shall be known as specialist groups.
Objects
The objects of the association shall be to promote the study and advancement of all branches of biology and in particular (but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing) to foster the practice, growth and development of applied biology, with a focus on the application of biological sciences in the production of food, materials and energy and for the maintenance and improvement of the earth’s environment.
Annual Subscriptions
9.1 – The subscription year shall be each calendar year beginning 1st January.
Membership
6.1 – Membership of the association is open to anyone with an interest in applied biology.
6.2 – An application for membership, presented on the appropriate application form, shall be considered by the trustees normally at the next council meeting.
